Petrell invites engineers and technical professionals to a two-day course covering the physics, engineering principles and practical use of VessFire for process depressurization and fire-response analysis.
The course combines theoretical understanding with demonstrations on selected test cases and refers to the fundamental principles outlined in ISO 23251:2020 / API 521 (2022).

Two days of engineering fundamentals, practical application and discussion.
DAY 1 — THEORY & ENGINEERING
- Introduction to blowdown and flare systems
- Standards and requirements
- Cold blowdown and fire-case blowdown
- Global and local (peak) heat loads; emissivity
- Jet fire and pool fire
- Low temperatures
- Unacceptable ruptures and acceptance criteria
- Material properties and stress–strain behaviour
DAY 2 — USING VESSFIRE
- How to use VessFire
- Input and modelling
- Review and interpretation of output
- Questions, discussion and summing-up

The fee includes training material, diploma, lunch and coffee/tea on both days. Travel and accommodation are at the participant’s own expense.
